Karuna is the Jewel in the Crown of the Reiki System
Karuna Reiki is a healing system, very similar to Usui Reiki. It feels like the same family, like a spiritual cousin, but with a definite, distinctive feel to it. It is a natural extension to Usui Reiki, the next logical progression. One leads naturally and effortlessly into the other.
Karuna represents a quantum shift in your healing ability. The Karuna symbols and the teaching programme ensure that this course will be a stepping stone to a higher level of your path & purpose. This work also initiates profound healing on fundamental levels and is deeply transformative, so please be prepared for huge changes within yourself.
This workshop is recommended for existing Reiki Masters (or practitioners for the Karuna Practitioner,) who are already committed to their path of personal healing and spiritual growth, who now feel ready to move to the next level of personal, professional and planetary healing. You will access new and powerful tools to heal yourself, to use in your work with others and for world healing.
This high energy 3 day course is usually taught at Avalon, Roseisle, where you will be in the healing, supportive, expansive and transformative energy of this unique healing centre, with crystals in the walls and foundations and a peaceful, supportive, nurturing atmosphere that has been described by one student as “Paradise – just heaven on earth,” built with love on the slopes of Dragon Hill and aligned with Iona, Glastonbury and Findhorn.
Elizabeth is an ICRT registered teacher, on completion of this course you will also be registered and be able to teach others to all levels of Karuna® Reiki. Suitable for existing Reiki Master/Teachers.

How do I use Karuna with others?
In the same way as you use Usui Reiki, with a few choices in how to work with them. The symbols can be used alongside the Usui symbols. They can be mixed and matched and interwoven, bringing in whatever is appropriate for each person in each area and situation.
These symbols add a greater depth, focus and potential to your healing work – opening up more possibilities for transformation, particularly where you come across resistance, blocks and reluctance to face painful or deep-seated issues.
You will be taught how to work with the symbols, how to do a stand alone Karuna treatment and how to use the incredibly powerful techniques of chanting & toning sessions.
The clearing and healing that ensues will enable you to step more fully and easily into your individual path of perfection and mastery. As you move deeper into your authentic self, you will be in a much better position to assist others on their healing path.
How do I teach Karuna Reiki?
On successful completion you will become a registered Karuna Reiki® Master with the International Centre for Reiki Training, and entitled to use the letters “KRM”. You will be able to teach Karuna Reiki® in 3 separate levels (Level I, Level II & Masters) or all levels together with existing Usui Masters as in this course.
Your students will also be eligible for registration with the ICRT (International Centre for Reiki training.) But the important outcome will always be the growth and healing that ensues within you.

The Karuna Symbols
1st Level Symbols (4) Symbol (1) Heals on a cellular level. Releases cellular memory. It acts as a spiritual anaesthetic, healing past trauma / abuse. Heals past life issues. Links to Archangel Gabriel for Karmic Healing.
Symbol (2) Very deep healing. Heals the shadow self. Works on unconscious negative patterns. Heals past trauma and abuse – deep healing. Powerful physical healing tool, especially when used with psychic surgery. Dispels psychic / psychological attack. Leads to self-acceptance.
Symbol (3) The symbol of compassion and love. Like a higher vibration mental/emotional symbol. Heals relationships. Heals addictions and increases motivation for self-improvement and growth. Heals the heart – develops unconditional love and compassion. Increases contact with spiritual beings in particular those focused on alleviating the suffering of humanity; i.e. Kwan Yin, Avalokiteshvara, Mother Mary, Jesus, Tara.
Symbol (4) Opens and heals the lower charkas, clears the mind, aids clarity and focus. Manifests goals. Clears negative energy.
2nd Level Symbols (4) Symbol (1) Connects to higher self. Helps study and communication skills. Increases creativity. Brings the higher self into the physical body therefore activates very deep healing and release of emotional pain.
Symbol (2) Aids connection to earth, grounding and energy flow from hips to feet. Manifests goals. Aids focus and ability to prioritise. Use for world peace.
Symbol (3) Assists ability to stay in own power and not be influenced or controlled by others. Helps us claim our full power. Aids release of negative co-dependencies. Builds & strengthens appropriate boundaries. Earth Healing and connection to other consciousness (trees, flowers and animals)
Symbol (4) Means and brings peace. Clears 3rd eye, increasing clairvoyance. Creates trust in the flow of life. Decreases pain, tension, fears, panic and worry. Good for insomnia.
Master Symbols (3) Symbol (1) Symbolises unity with all creation. Opens crown chakra. Purifies, protects, seals and stabilises the aura.
Symbol (2) Connects the earth star and mother earth. Centres and grounds in spiritual purpose.
Symbol (3) Aligns charkas and energy bodies.
The Meaning of the word ‘Karuna’
Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is translated to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as “compassionate action.” When we reach enlightenment, we are conscious of the realms out with time, space and matter where there is no duality – only unity consciousness. We understand that all beings are one. It is therefore natural to extend compassionate action or Karuna to everyone without distinction, as what we do for others we do for ourselves. As we help others and aid them in their healing process, all beings benefit. Because of the oneness of all, it is understood that Karuna is not only extended to others out of unconditional love, but also because it is the entirely logical thing to do. In the same way that you would want to heal the pain of your own wounds, you would also want to heal other’s pain. It is stated in Buddhist literature that Karuna must be accompanied by prajna or wisdom in order to have the right effect.
Karuna is the motivating quality of all enlightened beings who are working to end humanity’s suffering on Earth. They continually send an unlimited amount of healing energy and guidance to us, but not everyone is receptive to it. As you develop Karuna in yourself, not only are you assisting others, but you also become more receptive to the Karuna that is being sent by all the enlightened beings, thus your own healing is also quickened.
Karuna Reiki opens you to work more consciously with these enlightened beings. This includes those enlightened ones who are physically present as well as those in spirit. The Karuna attunements initiate healing on very deep levels. The changes may continue for a long time following the course, so it is only advised for those who are already committed to their path of personal healing and spiritual growth.
